The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is shaking up India's food ordering scene with significantly lower prices compared to Swiggy and Zomato.

ONDC was launched in September last year to transform India's e-commerce landscape using open protocols and open-source specifications.

Similar to UPI, ONDC enables users to order goods online from a variety of sellers across different apps.

To order food through ONDC, users must access one of its partner apps, such as Paytm or magicpin.

ONDC's food ordering service is currently live in several cities, including Bangalore and Delhi, which have the most options.

More cities will be added soon, with plans to eventually cover all of India.

ONDC charges only a 2-4% commission from restaurants on every order, compared to Swiggy and Zomato's 25-30% commission.

This lower commission allows restaurants to offer better prices to customers.

ONDC is currently running a promotion offering discounts to early users, making it even more appealing to Indian consumers.

As more people learn about the benefits of ONDC, the platform is set to revolutionize India's food ordering industry, providing more choices and better prices for consumers nationwide.
